From November 10 to 16, as part of the implementation of the II Decade of Action for Road Safety 2021-2030, the 2nd stage of Road Safety Week took place in Ukraine.

Unfortunately, the situation with road safety in the country remains difficult. In particular, in 10 months of 2025, according to the First Deputy Head of the Patrol Police Department of Ukraine, Oleksiy Biloshitsky, there were 21,302 road accidents with victims and fatalities. Although overall this is less than last year for the same period (by almost 1.5%), more people died in these accidents – 2,575 people (up almost 1.5%).

Every year, a number of events take place as part of Road Safety Week - roundtables for specialists, educational initiatives for the general public, and other various actions aimed at drawing attention to safety and forming a culture of behavior on the roads.

In particular, a round table "Safety in Transport" was held for specialists, heads of motor transport enterprises, representatives of transport infrastructure departments of regional state administrations and territorial communities, during which topical issues of transport safety in today's conditions were discussed. Almost 150 specialists from across the country joined the online event.

Special attention is paid to educating the younger generation to form in them a conscious choice and their own responsibility for behavior on the streets and roads. Therefore, many interactive events were held specifically for children, including the annual only lesson on road safety.

Another important and noble cause is the nationwide charity blood collection campaign "Donate Blood - Save a Life", which is organized twice a year, within the framework of the Week, by the international charity fund "Assistance to Road Accident Victims" together with the Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.

All regions of Ukraine joined the Road Safety Week events, noted Yuriy Chorny, Director of the Separate Division "Kyiv Interregional Branch" of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine.
