November 16 – World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims

This day is celebrated every year on the third Sunday of November, as decided by the UN, to draw attention to the problem of road safety.

Almost 1.25 million people die in road accidents every year. The majority of those killed and injured are young people aged 15-29. 50% of those who die on the world's roads are "vulnerable road users": pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists.
In Ukraine, the death rate from road accidents is one of the highest in Europe. The main reasons include speeding, violation of maneuvering rules, and drunk driving. Every year, we lose up to 3,000 of our citizens on the roads.

So, expressing our sincere condolences to the families of those who died in car wrecks, we once again draw the attention of the entire society to the horrific scale of road mortality, and we remind you that safety begins with each of us. Mutual respect on the road, compliance with traffic rules, and setting an example for our children are all things that shape the culture of behavior of road users.

Let's be responsible!
