Pre-medical training
The Kyiv Interregional Branch of the State Enterprise "Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine" of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, within its competence, conducts training in home medical care for persons who do not have a medical education, but who, according to their official duties, must be able to provide home medical care, guided by the legislation of Ukraine, in particular:
- The Law of Ukraine "On Labor Protection";
- The Law of Ukraine "On Road Traffic";
- The Law of Ukraine "On Motor Transport";
- The Law of Ukraine "On Emergency Medical Care";
- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated November 21, 2012 No. 1115 "On approval of the Procedure for training and advanced training of persons obliged to provide home medical care";
- Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine dated December 2, 2015 No. 1001 “On approval of licensing conditions for conducting economic activities in the transportation of passengers, dangerous goods and hazardous waste by road, international transportation of passengers and goods by road”;
- “On the organization of training of certain categories of non-medical workers in the skills of providing first aid”;
- “On improving the training in providing first aid to persons who do not have a medical education”;
- “On approval of the procedures for providing first-aid care to persons in emergency conditions”;
- O “On approval of the Standard Program for Advanced Training for Teachers, Directors and Deputy Directors, Organizing Teachers, Social Educators, practical psychologists of secondary education institutions “Know and Act” in the direction of “Organization of the activities of pedagogical workers on the issues of providing first aid and safe behavior on the road.
TRAINING PROGRAM (8 hours)
According to subparagraph 4) of paragraph 1 of Article 1 of the Law of Ukraine “On Emergency Medical Care”, first aid is urgent actions and organizational measures aimed at saving and preserving a person’s life in an emergency situation, minimizing the consequences of the impact of such a situation on his or her health, carried out at the scene by persons who do not have a medical education, but who, by virtue of their official duties, must possess basic practical skills in rescuing and preserving the life of a person in an emergency situation, and are required by law to perform such actions and measures.
The training program is designed for non-medical workers whose professional duties are related to the provision of first-aid care (in particular, vehicle drivers), in accordance with the "On improving the training in providing first-aid care to persons without medical education" and "On approval of the procedures for providing first-aid care to persons in emergency conditions."
The training program of the first level of training, according to the order, includes 3 courses:
- First aid training course "First aid for sudden cardiac arrest in adults (8 hours)"
- First aid training course "First aid for sudden cardiac arrest in children (8 hours)"
- First aid training course "First aid for massive bleeding (8 hours)".

The training program meets the standards stipulated by the requirements of the international BLS (basic life support) program: practical techniques for providing emergency medical care in case of respiratory disorders or arrest, cardiovascular disorders.
The total duration of the course is 8 hours. The program includes theoretical and practical training.
The theoretical course program covers: the concept of a human emergency, identifying signs of cardiac arrest, respiratory failure, rules for maintaining personal safety, calling an ambulance and rescuers, and the procedure for providing first aid in case of cardiac arrest and respiratory failure.
The objective of practical classes is to master and consolidate the knowledge gained in the theoretical course, master the practical skills of performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation for adults, restoring airway patency, and the ability to use the tools included in first aid kits, as well as an automatic external defibrillator.
The amount of knowledge gained after completing the program:
1) rules for inspecting the scene of an incident; rules for maintaining personal safety when providing first aid;
2) methods for assessing signs of life in victims of sudden cardiac arrest;
3) rules for calling emergency medical care, rules for communicating with the dispatcher;
4) algorithm for performing cardiopulmonary resuscitation in adults;
5) algorithm for cardiopulmonary resuscitation in children;
6) algorithm for cardiopulmonary resuscitation using an automated external defibrillator;
7) signs of upper airway obstruction in victims of different age groups;
8) algorithm for restoring airway patency in victims of different age groups;
9) signs of acute myocardial infarction and stroke, principles of providing assistance.
The pre-medical training course may also include individual programs developed taking into account the specifics of the customer's activities and working conditions. To receive a certificate of completion of the training course, after completing the theoretical part of the course, the student must pass a theoretical test, and after completing the practical part, successfully pass a practical exam.
After completing the course and successfully passing the theoretical and practical parts of the exam, the participant receives a state-issued certificate/license, and his/her data is entered into an electronic database.
Also, regardless of the specifics of the activity, students receive an illustrated A6-format First Aid Handbook, which is convenient to carry with them or add to the car first aid kit if the student is a driver. Teachers receive a road safety training manual for use during classes with children, "Safe Road Home" A5 format, 72 pages.
The training hour is 60 minutes.
Classes are held in groups of no more than 10 people.
To receive a certificate of completion of the training course, after completing the theoretical part of the course, the student must pass a theoretical test, and after completing the practical part, successfully pass a practical exam.
Upon completion of the training, students receive a , the data of which is entered into an electronic database. Also, regardless of the specifics of the activity, students receive a printed illustrated , which is convenient to carry with you or add to your car first aid kit if you are a driver.
The courses are conducted by certified trainers with extensive practical experience.

- VAT certificate or Certificate of payment of the single tax (copy);
