The systematic nature of work in the field of road safety was emphasized by Oksana Savchuk, People's Deputy of Ukraine, Head of the Subcommittee on Road Safety and Transport Safety of the Verkhovna Rada Committee on Transport and Infrastructure at a roundtable on the occasion of the start of the II stage of the All-Ukrainian Road Safety Week.
She drew attention to the need to appoint a Commissioner for Road Safety, because today in matters of safety everyone is responsible "for their own", and as a result, many decisions are lost.
Also, according to her, it is necessary to appoint an authorized person in the Cabinet of Ministers who will deal with road safety issues. Among the tasks is to "relaunch" the coordination council under the Government to approve a new strategy for improving road safety, the goal of which is to achieve zero road fatalities in the future.
"The main thing is that knowledge and modern legislative regulation allow the country to reduce road deaths," emphasized Oksana Savchuk.
