The Kyiv interregional branch of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Transport Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Ukraine, in accordance with the authority and on a permanent basis, organizes the improvement of the professional training of medical workers who conduct regular pre- and post-flight medical examinations of vehicle drivers.

Improvement of the professional training of medical workers on the basis of the Kyiv Interregional Branch and its representative offices in the regions is carried out in the form of ongoing information and thematic seminars "Methods of conducting periodic pre-flight and post-flight medical examinations of vehicle drivers" in accordance with the 26-hour unified Program.

Thanks to this course, medical workers are able to:

• master modern effective methods of medical control of driver services;
• to learn to identify signs of alcohol, drug or other intoxication or being under the influence of drugs in drivers of vehicles, which affect the severity and speed of the driver's reaction, while using modern measuring equipment and diagnostic tests;
• take a shortened course on providing first aid to victims of road accidents;
• familiarize yourself with the legal aspects of the activity.

The final control of assimilation of acquired knowledge by a medical worker is carried out by conducting a test, which includes a test part and assessment of mastery of practical skills.

After completing the training, the medical worker:

a) is entered into the Database (Register) of medical workers who have increased their competence and conduct periodic pre- and post-flight medical examinations of vehicle drivers, with the assignment of a number.

b) receives:
- Certificate on increasing the level of professional competence;
- a certificate of entry into the Register;
- a stamp on suitability for driving a vehicle with the number on it, which corresponds to the number of the entry in the Register;
- logbook of the changing pre-flight and post-flight medical examinations of drivers, form No. 137-2/0.

The advantages of medical workers undergoing training on the basis of the Branch are:

• high quality and practicality – highly qualified methodologists (doctors specializing in the organization and management of health care), narcologists, and lawyers in the field of health care are involved in conducting lectures and practical classes;
• convenient training format (offline or online) - in connection with the implemented adaptive quarantine, the Branch also practices distance learning, which allows you to improve your qualifications inseparable from the work process;
• educational and methodological and legal support of activities - after completing the training, the medical worker receives educational and methodological literature - a methodical manual on the organization and procedure of conducting medical examinations of drivers (driver candidates) of vehicles, as well as all necessary practical and legal consultations related to the performance of official duties, throughout the validity period of the received Certificate and stamp.

The validity period of the received Certificate and stamp is three years.
